UPDATE: Three Arrested After Shots Fired Outside Davenport Central

Three individuals were apprehended after a shooting outside Davenport Central High School resulted in the school being put on external lockdown.

Police were notified of a shooting near 12th and Harrison at 4:34 p.m. involving a car and two individuals on foot. James Hawkins was arrested after a brief foot pursuit, while Adrian Lomas and Lontrez Nabors were arrested near 9th and Myrtle at 6 p.m. where a handgun was found.

Hawkins was on the Department of Corrections Top 10 Most Wanted List because of his escape status and was also charged with possession of a controlled substance. Lomas was charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Nabors was charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana and Drug Tax Stamp.

Students playing at the tennis courts near Davenport Central reported they heard shots fired and the school was put on an external lockdown on the evening of April 30th.

The school was put on lockdown at 4:51 p.m. when students informed administrators they had heard shots. The school was put on external lockdown, meaning no one was allowed in or out, and was done as a precautionary move. Parents were notified of the situation and police were contacted. No one was hurt.

The lockdown was lifted at 5:09 p.m.
