DAVENPORT, IA -- Davenport police detained two people following a vehicle pursuit and foot chase.

The incident started around 6 p.m. on the 1300 block of Brady Street. Police responded to reports of shots fired and saw a maroon Chevy Cruz Cruz going at a high-speed. They then began a vehicle pursuit.

During the car chase, a gun and marijuana were discarded. The car eventually pulled over at Rockingham Road and River Drive and the suspects ran.

After a brief foot chase, two suspects were apprehended - Whitney Javon Joyner, age 26, and Dalonta Larenz Levy, age 16. They have been booked into Scott County Jail.

Police later discovered that shots were not fired, as originally reported.

Joyner has four charges, eluding, felon in possession of firearm, possession with intent to deliver, and reckless driving.

Levy is also facing charges of felon in possession of firearm, two charges of interference with official acts with injury, and possession with intent to deliver.

A sergeant on scene told KWQC that two officers suffered minor injuries during the chase.
