Sacred Threads

Posted: Updated:
Terre Klipsch believes her artistic ability is a gift from God. The Davenport woman is giving back, one stitch at a time.

As a little girl, Terre took sewing lessons, and was hooked.

Today, she uses thread and her sewing machine to design beautiful portraits. She calls her hobby Sacred Threads. She prays while she sews, saying God has given her a talent and this is her way of honoring Him.

Terre  tries to capture a moment in time. She works from photos, and did a thread portrait of her grandson playing at the park.

He is wearing his daddy’s hat.

Using black fabric, Terre stitched a silhouette of her daughter. It’s titled:  Out of the Mouth of Babes.

She has done hundreds of thread portraits, trying to capture the spirit of the person featured in each one.

Klipsch also has a hand guided quilting machine.

She has arthritis but will not allow it to prevent her from doing what she loves. She says with every stitch, she becomes stronger in her faith.

She also is a pet lover, and some of her thread art includes horses and dogs.

Terre Klipsch says she is gifted, and she gifts others. Using her talent as an artist to pray for the people who receive her art.

No prayer, she believes, is ever wasted.
