Man Wounded, Charged In Henderson Co. Shooting

Two men; two guns; one victim and one arrest in Henderson County, Illinois. The Sheriff's Office is reporting that on May 5, 2014, 53-year-old Elliot Sherdahl of Carman, Illinois drew a loaded pistol while on a property in the area known as Hopper in Stronghurst township.

Authorities say the property owner, 72-year-old Jack Taylor, shot Sherdahl with a shotgun. Sherdahl was wounded in the hand and the face. He was taken to a hospital in West Burlington and then transferred by helicopter to University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Even though Sherdahl was shot, he is being charged with attempted murder and unlawful use of a weapon. Taylor is being described as the victim.
