Eldridge Residents Shoot Down Property Tax Hike

The polls are closed and Eldridge residents have decided to vote down a property tax hike.

City leaders were asking residents to pay $60 per $100-thousands their property is worth.

The money will be used to fund a new city hall and police station which will cost $4.6-million.

The measure fell 52 percent to 48 percent.
