They hit the course running. Four legged friends going through the paces at the Scott County Kennel Club.

Swift is a four year old golden retriever. She tackles the obstacle course in a race against time.

Handlers say this is a team game. It’s all about teamwork and trust between owners  and their dogs.

The dogs walk the A-Frame, work their way inside a tunnel, and develop agility.

The animals are in a race against the clock during competitions.

The dogs are trained to use their sense of smell to locate and retrieve objects. They follow commands.

Kennel Club President Ray Carter says promoting responsible dog ownership is very important!

He points out that there is a tremendous sense of accomplishment when dog and owner work in tandem.

There will be about six hundred dogs participating in a two day show sponsored by the Scott County Kennel Club.

It will be on May 10th and 11th at the QCCA Expo Center in Rock Island.

Show hours are 6:00am to 5:00pm.

The show will take place under the American Kennel Club rules and regulations.
