Davenport Central H.S. Lockdown Lifted

Central High School in Davenport was briefly put on lockdown Wednesday while police searched for a suspect in an incident unrelated to the school. According to the school district, a staff member spotted a person possibly with a gun on the tennis courts at 12th and Harrison. Police were called and the suspect was quickly apprehended. As it turns out, police say the suspect had a pellet handgun.

Police say the lockdown lasted 12 minutes. The school district says all students are safe and buses will be running about 15 minutes late.
