The search is still on for 44 year old Charles Slocum. Over 8 area agencies and first responders have been searching over a 2 mile stretch of the Mississippi since 8 o'clock this morning.

Chief Mat Schnepple of the Carbon Cliff-Barstow Fire Department said the IL-DNR is putting together a accident reconstruction team, trying to figure out what exactly happened that caused the boat to sink yesterday morning.

Recovery crews said they found a lot of debris from that capsized boat yesterday, but haven't found much today. They said they suspect that Charles is probably not with the boat at this point.

"If the boat was still large enough to support an individual still clinging to the boat, we would be able to see that boat under water so, at this point we're working off the assumption that the boat has been crushed into pieces of a small enough size that they're not congregated together," said Chief Schnepple.

Chief Schnepple said they will begin day three of looking for Charles Slocum tomorrow morning, if they do not find him today.

If the search does continue tomorrow, he said they will focus on looking along the shoreline.
