Rock Island/Milan School Board leaders vote to sell the old Audubon School property, but what the buyer intends to use the site for is still unknown.      The board voted unanimously on the purchase agreement with Moline Acquisitions, LLC which will buy the property for $700,000.
In the contract, which the board got just last Friday, there is no mention of what the land will become. That had a couple of neighbors upset and speaking out about it at the meeting Tuesday night.

"It's real important to us that your good neighbors back to us since we've been good neighbors to you," said Ellen Martin.
"It tells me they have no interest in working with the neighborhood in being conducive to us and it potentially opens it up to just about anything going in there," said Andrea Gaeta.
District officials say selling the property has been a long time coming with the building empty since 2010 and then demolished late last year. According to the contract Moline Acquisitions, LLC must properly zone the site for whatever use that's intended and has to enter into a development agreement with the city. District officials think it will be good for the city as a whole.
"They thought it was fiscally responsible for the school district. That has been their guiding purpose in this whole process is being fiscally responsible for the school district," said district Communication Director Holly Sparkman.
The buyer has a total of 150 days to close on the transaction or the property will go back on the market.
