MOLINE, IL – A father and son were arrested at Adriana’s Pizzeria on Wednesday for distributing powder cocaine to their customers and customers of nearby bars.

Kevin Winslow of Quad City Metropolitan Enforcement Group (QC MEG) says their narcotics team, along with Moline Street Crimes Unit, Moline CCU Team, and the DEA were able to make arrest after a six month long investigation.

David A. Curtner Sr., 44, owner of the store, and his son David A. Jr., 22, are now in the Rock Island County Jail.

Winslow says, “This was more than someone that was maybe trading or selling user-amounts or a small gram or two. This was a significant amount.” Winslow says because the investigation is still ongoing, they can’t release the exact amount raided.

The investigation started from anonymous tips from suspecting neighbors that were concerned about safety, as there are schools, churches and many families nearby.

Winslow says during this long-term investigation, “We were able to observe a frequent pattern of people entering this pizza establishment not purchasing pizza or any other food items.”

He also says they found that individuals were going from Adriana’s Pizzeria to local bars and selling powder cocaine to the patrons of those establishments.

Nearby businesses gave mixed reaction, some were shocked, but others were not surprised. There had been rumors going around about illegal substances being dealt at the pizzeria.

Rock Island County Sheriff says the two are scheduled to appear in court on May 27, 2014. They have both been charged with manufactured delivery of controlled substance.

Winslow says this one part of the case is closed, but the investigation is far from over. They expect to make more arrests.
