Bettendorf High School athletes will benefit from a record-breaking fundraising effort.

According to a news release, the Bettendorf Athletics Booster Club presented a $140,000 check to Bettendorf High School Athletic Department during the school's All Sports Banquet on May 21. The parent volunteer group raised the money through 2013-2014 concession sales, apparel sales, membership, and Bettober Fest activities. The funds will be used by the Bettendorf High School Athletic Department to support expenses for transportation, uniforms, team event entry fees, equipment, hotels, meals, and other expenses.

School officials say the record-setting fundraising was a team effort from students, parents, school staff and the community.
