Fire crews rescued four people from the Mississippi River near Buffalo Shores.

The four were on what the Iowa DNR calls a make shift duck blind, and had a make shift fire.

Conservation officer Jeff Harrison told KWQC the four were going down river to set their blind for tomorrow, but first were going to enjoy their fire.

The current was too strong and swept them away from the shore. High waters caused some issues for crews as they hauled in the duck blind.

Harrison said no charges will be filed, lessons learned was enough.
