1 Killed, 10 Injured in Lee Co. Crash

The Lee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash involving a motorcycle and a van that left one person dead and injured ten others.

It happened around 2:20 p.m. at the Intersection of Inlet Road and Route 52 in Sublette, Illinois, on Saturday May 24, 2014.

Officers say a Kreider Services van with 9 occupants was heading southbound on Inlet Road when it pulled out in front of a motorcycle, with two riders, that was heading east on Rt. 52.

The motorcycle hit the side of the van.

One person died at Mendota Hospital and the remaining 10 individuals involved were injured. They were taken to KSB Hospital and Mendota Hospital for treatment.

Officers say one of the injured is in very serious condition.

The names of the victims are not being released at this time. 

The northbound and southbound traffic on Inlet Road at Rt. 52 have a stop sign. Traffic on Rt. 52 does not have a stop sign at this location.
