Clerk Injured In Coal Valley Convenience Store Scuffle

A Coal Valley, Ill. convenience store clerk is recovering from a frightening ordeal as well as cuts from broken glass.

Police say a man entered the 7-Eleven and picked out a few six packs of bottled beer.

An altercation occurred between the man and an off duty clerk.

The man held the store clerk in a choke hold and dropped the beer and the bottles broke.

During the struggle, the two went down and the clerk was cut by the broken glass.

A citizen jumped in to help until police arrived.

Arrested was 49-year-old Anthony Frazee of Coal Valley, Ill.

Police say he was found two home-made knives when he was arrested.

But police say these weren't used in the assault.

Frazee is charged with aggravated battery.
