Romney Returns To Iowa

Posted: Updated:
Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney is back on the campaign trail in Iowa, only this time it's to show support for a U.S. Senate candidate. Romney stopped in Cedar Rapids Friday morning, May 30, 2014 for a rally for Iowa State Representative Joni Ernst.

She's in a five person race for a chance at the Senate seat being vacated by Tom Harkin, who after 40 years in office has announced his retirement.  Also running for the GOP nomination is Sam Clovis, Scott Schaben, Mark Jacobs and Matt Whitaker. The winner of the Republican nomination will run against Iowa Democratic Congressman Bruce Braley in the fall.

Romney is scheduled to appear at the Rogalski center at St. Ambrose University on Friday afternoon. This is the first time since the 2012 presidential campaign that Romney has visited Iowa.
