Visitors to YMCA Camp Abe Lincoln celebrated the camp's 90th anniversary with hayrack rides, swimming tours, food and more, including a ribbon cutting for the camp's new library.

The $40,000 Davenport Jaycees Library has donors hoping to make reading a big part of camp.

Organizers say summer camps give kids a chance to enjoy the great outdoors.

"With nowadays, the way things are, kids are very engaged in technology and are very structured in everything that they do," YMCA Camp Abe Lincoln summer camp director Nick Martinez said. "When do they get an opportunity to be kids? When do they get an opportunity to get dirty and just play?

Camp Abe Lincoln will have a variety of different camps throughout the summer, including day and overnight sessions as well as special weeks for military kids.
