Davenport church hopes to change the world

Posted: Updated:

One Davenport church has a mission to change the world one step at a time.

So instead of having church services Sunday morning, members of St. John's United Methodist Church went out into the community to perform random acts of kindness, like handing out free coffee, packaging up meals for Kids Against Hunger and picking up trash in the area.

"We like to say in the church, our hands and feet are the hands and feet of Jesus and it kinds of gives that a realistic and tangible opportunity for people to do that," church pastor Ron Carlson said.

More than 200 people participated and the Carlson says he hopes to see even more do so next year.
