A man in Winfield, Iowa was run over by a pickup after a heated argument, police say.

Chief Jeff Dietrich says the call came in just before 3:00 a.m. on Monday, June 2, 2014 of a fight at the corner of Chestnut and Wallace Streets in Winfield.

He says 20-year-old Nick Watson of Winfield and 19-year-old Virgil Nicholas, IV of Olds, Iowa were involved in an altercation which resulted in the fight.

According to the report, the men were separated and later found at the Maple Place Apartments, at 405 S. Maple Street.

Police say Nichols had run over Watson with his truck.

Nichols was arrested and charged with willful injury, a class D felony.

Watson was taken to the hospital.

His condition is not known.

Police say alcohol was involved.
