Davenport: Unpaid Traffic Fines Could Cost You Your Registration

Posted: Updated:
Unpaid traffic tickets could soon prevent you from renewing your car registration in Davenport.

Under new rules, anyone who has a ticket from traffic cameras that is more than 60 days overdue will have a hold put on their registration.

That means the driver would not be able to renew registrations, sell a car or transfer a title until the fines are paid.

Each of those unpaid fines will also have a $25 collection fee.

But, there is some good news.

For the next two months drivers can pay over due citations with out the hold or collection fee.

The deadline for that amnesty period is August 4, 2014.
