Illinois State Police responded to a fatal accident near Knoxville, Ill. Friday morning, June 6, 2014.

The incident happened around 6:42 a.m.

Police say a pickup truck was westbound on US 150 at I-74 when a car was exiting I-74.

According to the report, the car stopped at the stop sign and then pulled out onto US 150, in front of the pickup.

Police say the pickup hit the driver's side of the car.

The car's driver was pronounced dead while the driver of the pickup was uninjured.

Police say the driver of the pickup was cited for violation of driver's license classification.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members.
