After weeks of worry and debates, Davenport schools has changed start times for next year.

They asked for public opinion for weeks, and ended up voting on a schedule that wasn't an option.

Board members say this is a compromise.

They ended up choosing what they've called option "CC," but amending it to be 20 minutes earlier.

Most elementary schools will start next school year at 7:35 AM, but Young, Blue Grass and Walcott will start at 8:45 AM.

High schools will start at 8:10 AM, and intermediate schools will start at 8:45 AM.

Although another option was popular, some parents say the board's decision is fair because it is early enough to get their kids to school before work, and they'll be getting out before dark.

Others say they are unhappy with 8:10 AM, as they must be at work by 8 AM.
