It is a hobby. One which started twenty two years ago for Paul Laird of Rapids City.

Signed. Sealed. Delivered.

Paul says his list is now up to twenty one pages. Most people appreciate being remembered on their birthday or anniversary, he says.

That’s the main reason why Laird enjoys sending out postcards. Postcard Paul sent out his first one in 1992.

Back then, Laid used church directories to find names, birthdays, and anniversaries. Laird says once he built up a trust with people, they started sharing their mailing addresses.

Since then, Paul has sent thousands of postcards to people throughout the United States and abroad. In 2009, he reached a milestone. He had at least one name for every day of the year.

Paul signs each card, and includes a message. There are hand stamped verses on each one.

Paul and his wife Debbie also send out Christmas cards. Many with some unique postmarks.

Included are Noel, Missouri. Christmas, Florida. Even Lairdsville, Pennsylvania.

Postcard Paul says God has given him a gift of remembering numbers and dates. This is his way of giving back. He says all of us can do something for someone else.

Paul Laird and his hobby, getting a stamp of approval!
