Tipton PD Receives Police Dog Through Grant

 Tipton has been awarded a grant from Houston-based K9s4COPS and has been provided a K-9 officer.

The new officer, Bullet, is a Belgium Malinois Shepherd Dog and will be trained in narcotics and search and rescue. Officer Scott McGlaughlin, the dogs new handler, are attending basic training in Houston and will continue training on a monthly basis.

The dog is the only K-9 enforcement officer in Cedar County. McGlaughlin and Bullet will return ton Tipton over the 4th of July weekend and will meet and greet the public after the parade.
