Original: Sterling police are investigating a second home invasion in just a few days. On Tuesday, shortly after noon, police were called to a home in the 1300 block of Griswold Ave. A man in the home was found with serious injuries and taken to a local hospital. He was later flown to a hospital in Rockford, Ill.

Police say the man was hurt in a home invasion that occurred sometime between 9 a.m. June 23 and 10:30 a.m. June 24. Police are asking for help in identifying suspects in the case.

On Sunday, June 22,  two people were taken to the hospital after a home invasion and battery. In that case, witnesses told police that five to seven people were involved in the incident that happened in the 300 block of 7th Avenue. We are waiting to hear back from police on whether they think the two cases might be related.
