2014 Blues Fest Moves To Centennial Park

A decision has been made.

The 2014 Mississippi Valley Blues Fest is moving down river.

The annual event, scheduled for Thursday, July 3, 2014 through Saturday, July 5, 2014, has been forced to move once again because of the soggy conditions at LeClaire Park in downtown Davenport, Iowa.

Last year the fest was moved a couple of blocks away from the river to 2nd Street because of the same problem.

This year, Mississippi Valley Blues Society members met with Davenport city officials and decided to relocate to Centennial Park, just down river from the Centennial Bridge and Modern Woodmen Park.

Society board director, Kevin Nolan tells us LeClaire Park is just a little too wet and they were worried with any additional rain it wouldn't be dry enough by next week.

Instead of the downtown location they had last year, they opted for more scenic spot.
