Muscatine Police Investigate Fatal Shooting

One man is dead and another under arrest after a shooting in Muscatine late Sunday afternoon.

Officers responded to the scene on the 2000 block of Lincoln Boulevard around 4 p.m., after a 911 call reporting an altercation there.

When crews arrived, they found a male subject who had been shot multiple times, according to Muscatine County Attorney Alan Ostergren. The victim, identified as 23-year-old Troy Ott, was transported to Unity Point Trinity Hospital in Muscatine where he was later pronounced dead.

Officers arrested 23-year-old Jordan Daufeldt, who lives at the Lincoln Blvd. home where the shooting occurred. He's charged with Murder in the First Degree.

Daufeldt is being held without bond in the Muscatine County Jail pending a court appearance Monday morning.

Police continue to investigate. Late Sunday evening, they executed a search warrant at the scene of the incident.
