The river is getting so high in Keithsburg, Ill., residents might have to evacuate on Saturday.

That's when the river's expected to crest at 21.9 feet.

Water is already flooding parts of the town, especially near the local boat club.

Along with the flooding, the rising river levels also broke a lift station that moves waste to a treatment plant.

That means the city could see a sewer backup.

Officials are already asking people to use their water as little as possible to help the situation.

Keithsburg is no stranger to flooding.

The river got over 24 feet in 2008 and 1993.

Both times causing a lot of damage.

Both times residents were evacuated

Officials are now preparing for that again.

The city is reminding people to come up with an evacuation plan and have their valuables ready to take with them.
