Michael Phelps of Davenport is living the dream. He is quick on the draw, so to speak.

Michael has four panels to tell a story. Using his digital tablet and pen, Phelps is a comic strip cartoonist.

He is the creator of Life On 66, a  series about growing up in Carbon Cliff.

Phelps created the web comic in April of 2010. His series is a slice of life look at small town America.

Many of the characters are Michael’s friends. Real settings and real people.

His Life On 66 series includes The Whole Shebang and Take Too.

M.J. is the owner of the Gas Can service station. Ginger owns the Carbon Cliff Diner.

Living their Life on 66.

Phelps also had a rare opportunity years ago when he was asked to draw the comic strip for Dick Tracy.

He says that was one of the thrills of his career.

He always wanted to be a comic strip cartoonist.

Phelps took art classes when he attended United Township High School in East Moline.

A cartoon character. A creative artist who really enjoys Life On 66.
