Garden City, NY (PRWEB) July 15, 2014

NAPW honors Pamela E. Erlandson, Owner, Surgical Assistant, Surgical Technologist III & Surgical & Medical Legal Consultant for Erlandson Surgical & Medical Legal Consulting Services, as 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Erlandson is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in medical and legal consulting. As the largest, most-recognized organization of women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.

I became fascinated with surgery more than 30 years ago when I was working as a Unit Secretary in ICU, says Ms. Erlandson, whose genuine interest did not go unnoticed, especially by the Chief of Anesthesia who chose her to fill a position as a surgical technologist.

Due to her talent, passion and professionalism Ms. Erlandson would go on to work for many well-respected institutions and Level I trauma centers such as St. Vincents Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock, AR; Arkansas Children's Hospital; Oakland Childrens Hospital in Oakland, CA.; University of San Francisco Medical Center in San Francisco and Alta Bates Medical Center in Berkley, CA. During her career, Ms. Erlandson would assist in many different types of surgeries including cardiac surgery, organ transplantation, neurosurgery and trauma surgery.

After retiring, Ms. Erlandson was given the opportunity to start a new business offering legal consulting services for medical and surgical cases. With her extraordinary background, Ms. Erlandson is now assisting in medical documentation, identifying pertinent data that is often overlooked by expert doctors when reviewing patient's charts.

NAPW's mission is to provide an exclusive, highly advanced networking forum to successful women executives, professionals and entrepreneurs where they can aspire, connect and achieve. Through innovative resources, unique tools and progressive benefits, professional women interact, exchange ideas, advance their knowledge and empower each other.
