Your First Alert Forecast from Meteorologist Katie Donovan

A strong fall cold front will push into the area this evening and will increase our shower and storm chances past sunset. We should see a line of storms develop in central Iowa this evening and that will move in to our western counties after 9PM. Some of these storms could become strong and produce gusty winds. Widespread severe weather is not expected and the line will weaken and become disorganized as it moves eastward. Any leftover showers will taper off by noon on Sunday, leaving us will cloudy skies and falling temperatures for the remainder of the day. Highs won't be that warm for the long term, and in fact, will struggle to make it out of the 50s most days. We and only climb to the 40s by next weekend. As of today, I think there is a good chance for our first frost or first hard freeze at some point in the next 7+ days. This is something we will be watching as the week goes by, so stay tuned!

TONIGHT: Showers and storms. Breezy. Low: 60°. Wind: S 10-15+ mph.

TOMORROW: Few showers early. Then cool and cloudy. High: 60°↓. Wind: NW 5-15 mph.

MONDAY: Partly cloudy. High: 65°.
