Multiple fire departments respond to fire at farm off Highway 61 in Muscatine

MUSCATINE, Iowa (KWQC) - Multiple fire departments responded to a fire at a farm off Highway 61 in Muscatine early Thursday afternoon.

The fire was located near New Era Road, which was blocked off both ways and is now open.

The owner of the farm told TV6 the fire started in the barn and spread to the garage.

The owner says there were no injuries but that has not been confirmed by officials yet.

As of 1:45 p.m. there were no flames visible but fire officials were still working to clean up the debris and spray the smoking structures.

According to a TV6 crew on scene, the smoke is not visible from Highway 61 anymore.

Multiple fire departments responded to the fire including, Muscatine, Durant, Blue Grass, Montpelier and Wilton.
