Clinton Police investigating vehicle crash

CLINTON, Iowa (KWQC) - The Clinton County Sheriff’s office is investigating a “serious two vehicle collision” in the area of 220th Street and 330th Avenue. It happened around 6 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.

Officials say the initial investigation indicates an SUV going northbound on 330th Avenue pulled into the path of a pickup truck going eastbound on 220th Street, after stopping at a stop sign.

The driver of the SUV had to be removed from his vehicle and flown to a hospital by a Medforce helicopter. The driver of the pickup was transported to a local hospital, according to officials.

The Iowa State Patrol was requested to respond to the collision due to the severity of it, and they will conduct a technical investigation as well as the state accident report.

Deputies were assisted by the DeWitt Volunteer Fire Department, Genesis Ambulance, Medforce, Iowa State Patrol, Clinton County Communications and Clinton County Secondary Roads Department
