DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Iowa and Illinois both begin this college basketball season ranked in the top ten. One game in, both programs are living up to the hype. #5 Iowa beat North Carolina Central 97-67. Luka Garza led the Hawkeyes with 26 points and 10 rebounds. #8 Illinois beat North Carolina A&T 122-60. Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cockburn led the Illini with 28 points each.

Illinois will play again at home on Thanksgiving against Chicago State at 11:00 a.m. Iowa’s next game is Friday against Southern at 4:00 p.m.
