DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - 2020 was a a tough year for small businesses, especially for the bar and restaurant business. Baked Beer & Bread Co. manager Garrett Allison-Glaser said he considers himself and the restaurant did well.

“I like to think that as far as where everyone else was at, we did very well,” he said.

Although with 2020 in the past, he’s looking ahead, and has high hopes for 2021.

“There’s a light at the end of the tunnel hopefully here and maybe about mid-year or even three quarters of the way through the year,” he said, “Hopefully by this Summer, it would be great because it’s nice out and we get a lot more foot traffic in this area, and the fact that it’s open, just everyone’s happier, in good spirits.”

Although he understands what it takes to get to that point, and that begins with following health guidelines.

“They’re very constricting but they’re rules, we have to follow them and the more we follow them, the sooner we’re going to get out of this,” he said.

And that it’ll take everyone to get there.

“It’s nice to know that we’re not alone and it keeps us all moving,” he said, “we all say it takes a village, it definitely does.”
