MUSCATINE, Iowa (KWQC) - The Muscatine Police Department announced Assistant Chief Phil Sargent is retiring after 31 years of service.

According to the police department, Sargent joined in 1989 and rose in ranks from “Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant and finally was appointed the Assistant Chief.” The department also says Assistant Chief Sargent help the department achieve Accreditation from CALEA, the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

Meanwhile, Muscatine Police Chief Brett Talkington announced Steve Snider has been promoted from Captain of Patrol to Assistant Police Chief.
