Hundreds enjoy opening weekend at Freight House Farmer’s Market
DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Hundreds were able to enjoy the sunshine this weekend at the Freight House Farmer’s Market. Saturday kicked off their outdoor season, and people of all ages visited the many different stands ranging from flowers to food, and some home-made decor.
The return of the outdoor market was welcomed by both customers and vendors after a tough year. Ashely Abdon with Barb’s Garden Pantry says Saturday was “an awesome first day. There have been so many people. It’s great to see everybody out, especially with the sunshine. It’s great to see everybody support the local business down at the market.”
Among the many people supporting local businesses and visiting the market was Pamela Woods, who brought her granddaughter Raquel for the first time. “I thought it would a wonderful time to bring her down here, get out and enjoy the fresh air. With the pandemic settling down a bit I thought it not robbery to show her some joy,” says Woods.
The Farmer’s Market will be open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can follow them on Facebook for changes here.
