DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - An annular solar eclipse will take place on Thursday morning in North America. It will start at 3:12AM our time and end at 8:11AM our time. Since it will occur early in the day, our viewing time will be very limited. The sun will rise tomorrow at 5:28AM in the Quad Cities. At that time the eclipse will be near its peak and continue at its maximum until 6:33AM. The problem is, we aren’t in the most direct path. In fact, the QC will only see about a 7%-8% coverage of the sun. So, from 5:28AM until 5:40AM will be the only time we can see the partial eclipse before it ends locally. The next solar eclipse visible in North American will be in October of 2023.
