Extreme Heat & Humidity Into Wednesday
Next chance for strong storms Wednesday evening - they’ll take away some of the humidity!
QUAD CITIES IA/IL (KWQC) -- FIRST ALERT DAYS in effect now until Wednesday 6/15 at 8 PM for Extreme Heat and Humidity.
YOUR FIRST ALERT FORECAST FROM CHIEF METEOROLOGIST ERIK MAITLAND:
***FIRST ALERT DAY - FOR HEAT THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING - SEVERE STORMS THROUGH MIDNIGHT WEDNESDAY***
***HEAT ADVISORY THROUGH 8PM WEDNESDAY***
The heat and humidity are back. Our weather will dry out Monday evening as showers move east. Partly to mostly cloudy overnight skies will remain a bit
uncomfortable with high humidity and lows only back to the mid 70s. Highs will be near 100 Tuesday with heat indexes up to 110+! Wednesday will start rain-free
but during the evening a cold front will ram into the heat and humidity over the region. This could spark strong to severe thunderstorms Wednesday evening.
During the night a bit of the humidity will be scoured out but we’ll still finish the week with highs in the mid and upper 80s to 90 degrees which is where we’ll
also stay for the weekend. Next week we get the heat and humidity right back with highs in the mid 90s by Tuesday.
TONIGHT: CLEARING OVERNIGHT. LOW: 76. WIND: S 5-10
TUESDAY: MOSTLY SUNNY, HOT AND HUMID. HEAT INDEX: 110+. HIGH: 99°. WIND: SW 15-20/30
WEDNESDAY: PARTLY CLOUDY. EVENING SHOWERS AND STORMS. HIGH: 96°.
