Tara Gray

Tara Gray joined the KWQC-TV6 team as a digital content producer in January 2020. She became the Director of Content in March 2022.

Born in Kewanee, Illinois, her father’s 23 years in the U.S. Army took Tara’s family to Georgia, Arizona, New York, the Netherlands and Germany.

Tara found her passion for writing as a child and would drive her parents crazy asking them to help her spell words.

She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications/journalism from Augusta State University (Augusta, Georgia) in 2007. She began her career as a reporter with Sauk Valley Media in August 2007 and covered courts and cops for much of that time. She was hired as an education reporter at the Quad-City Times in February 2013 and later became the public safety reporter.

Tara married her husband, Chad, in February 2018. In October 2019, they adopted Lucy, a black-and-white Lab mix whom they adore.

When she’s not reporting the news, she enjoys reading, spending time with family, checking out new restaurants, and listening to true crime podcasts.
