A group of women in Bettendorf mean business. They are donating their time and talent to spread goodwill during the holiday season.

Local artist Jean Johnson painted a beautiful original of the Interstate-74 Bridge from the vantage point of Leach park. The acrylic is titled “Leach Park In July.”

The painting has been made into a limited edition ornament. A group of business women in downtown Bettendorf got on board. They have ben framing, packaging, and selling the ornaments. Proceeds from the sale of the ornaments will go toward buying Christmas presents and other items for less fortunate families at Jefferson Elementary and Lourdes Catholic Schools.

The ornaments are a huge success. Already, one hundred fifty have been sold. Another two hundred fifty are in the making. The ornament sells for eight dollars.

You can purchase the I-74 Bridge ornament at several downtown Bettendorf businesses. A boost for the local economy. A heartfelt way to spread goodwill and make the holiday season a bit brighter for less fortunate families.
