DUBUQUE, Iowa (KWQC) - Dubuque schools will open 2 hours later Monday morning while officials investigate a social media threat.

The Dubuque Community School District posted to its Facebook page early Monday morning, Jan. 14, with the announcement. The social media threat was made to Jefferson Middle School.

Officials say the 2-hour delay will allow additional time for the investigation.

District-run morning preschool is cancelled.
