FIRST ALERT DAY until Noon Tuesday for Bitter Cold

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) A FIRST ALERT DAY has been issued for the entire TV6 viewing area from now until Noon Tuesday for Bitter Cold.

Record lows have already been set at Dubuque and Burlington as of 3AM. The QC is within 1° of the record for today’s date. This cold snap is as advertised thanks to the fresh snow on the ground and clear skies. Sunshine will win out today, but with the snow will likely keep highs to the teens and twenties today. Wednesday will bring highs near 30°, but yet another chance for light snow arrives in the evening hours. It looks to be a dusting for most with up to an inch along highway 20. The weather pattern will quiet down the rest of the week with highs eventually getting back to the 40s this weekend.
FIRST ALERT DAYS are issued to inform you of inconvenient, hazardous, or potentially dangerous weather in our viewing area--weather that could impact you and your family. Look for frequent updates on air, online, on our social media platforms and on the QC Weather App.
