Local law enforcement agencies have organized a fun event for
a serious matter.
On October 25, 2018, at 2:30 p.m., the public is invited to join law enforcement for the No Shave November kick off at the Tax Slayer Center in Moline. Chief Reynolds from the East Moline Police Department will explain the event and what it means to the law enforcement community.
Twelve area law enforcement agencies have banded together to create “The Battle of the Beards,” a competition that pits Iowa Law Enforcement against Illinois Law Enforcement to determine which side of the river can grow the best beards. At the end of November, they will have a commencement of beards with individual and department awards, as well as check presentations to Tudi’s Tribe and Gilda’s Club.
Participating in “The Battle of the Beards” are Davenport Police, Bettendorf Police, Scott County Sherriff’s Department,
LeClaire Police, Rock Island Police, Rock Island County Sheriff’s Department, Milan Police, Moline Police, East Moline Police, Silvis Police, Coal Valley Police, and Augustana Campus Police.
The public can support law enforcement by purchasing a No Shave November t-shirt for $30 between October 25th and November 1st. All proceeds will go to Tudi’s Tribe and Gilda’s Club of the Quad Cities.
