VIDEO: Bettendorf mayor to hold State of the City Address

BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) - UPDATE 2/21: Bettendorf Mayor Bob Gallagher says residential and business growth in the city is solid.

The mayor gave his State of the City Address on Wednesday, Feb. 20. During the address, he applauded the TBK Bank Sports Complex for the $22 million it's already generated in business growth. He is concerned about the lack of riverfront development.

"We can do better with our riverfront," Mayor Gallagher said. "We are the last city in the Quad Cities without a real riverfront."

The mayor's also concerned about the cost of upgrades on the sewage treatment plant. Bettendorf shares the plant with Davenport, Riverdale and Panorama Park.

ORIGINAL: Bettendorf Mayor Rober Gallagher will be addressing the city during the State of the City Address. The address will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the Waterfront Convention Center.

Doors will open at 11 a.m. and opening remarks along with lunch at 11:30 a.m.

The public is invited to attend the luncheon and/or the State of the City Address. Lunch will be $10 per person, cash and checks will be accepted.

Those not wanting to eat lunch can attend for free.
