Boil order for Tampico after large house fire

The Village of Tampico is under a boil order until further notice after a large house fire Tuesday afternoon drained the local water supply.

No one was home and no one was injured in the fire that occurred in the 200 block of South Canal Street.

However, village officials tell TV6 firefighters used so much water putting the blaze out that a boil order was issued due to low water pressure.

No word on how long the boil order will stay in effect.
