DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - City officials in Davenport cancelled the snow emergency for Jan. 24th and have declared a snow emergency starting Sunday night at 9 p.m., Jan 26th through Monday, Jan. 27th at 6am.

This means parking on posted snow routes is not allowed, and you can be ticketed and towed if you do park on one.
Davenport city officials say 1200 tickets were issued during previous snow emergencies.
Residents and visitors to the downtown area can park in the city's ramps for free to avoid a ticket through 8 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 27.
In Rapids City, a snow emergency is in effect from Thursday at 9 p.m. through noon on Saturday.
Officials say if there is 2” of snow predicted to fall, you will need to find an alternative to street parking so the Public Works Department can clear streets in a more timely fashion.
The City of Galesburg has issued a snow emergency in effect on Friday at 6:30 a.m.
Citizens are reminded that a parking prohibition will take effect on all Galesburg City streets during the snow emergency. Vehicles parked on City streets (except in the central business district) during this time will be subject to ticketing and towing. The parking prohibition will remain in effect until all streets are cleared.
