CLINTON, Iowa (KWQC) - No injuries have been reported after a roof caved in during a fire in Clinton.
Officials say on Wednesday around 2:30 a.m., they were called to 17th Avenue North and Roosevelt Street by the Clinton County Communications. Upon arrival, officials say they saw heavy fire coming from the rear of a home where the garage was located.
There was only one person inside at the time of fire and they were able to get out safely without injury.
Officials say an offensive attack was made and due to a roof collapse crews remained on scene for three hours to extinguish hot spots.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
