UPDATE: Three killed in Des Moines County crash involving train

DANVILLE, Iowa (KWQC) - UPDATE: Three people were killed when the car they were in was hit by a train Saturday.

The Iowa State Patrol says Amber Curry, 29, was pulling out of a residence on old Highway 34 near Danville when she failed to yield to a train and was struck. The vehicle rolled and came to a rest. Laura Burch, 27 and Ann Smith, 26 were also killed in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.

ORIGINAL: Multiple departments are responding to an accident involving a car and a train in Des Moines County, Iowa.

According to a TV6 viewer, the train hit a car on the 19000 block of Highway 34. It is unclear if anyone was hurt, but the viewer said a child was in the car.
