Search for man near Princeton, Illinois ends with suspect being taken into custody

PRINCETON, Ill. (KWQC) - UPDATE 7:25 a.m. Princeton, Illinois Police say the suspect they were searching for has been located and taken into custody without incident.

A man is wanted out of Princeton, Illinois and police are asking for the community's help. Police say they're assisting the Illinois State Police in locating the man pictured above. Officials say he ran after a traffic stop and was last seen on foot in Princeton Tuesday morning. (KWQC)

UPDATE 5:10 p.m. Princeton police have called off their search for the man who ran from an Illinois State Police traffic stop on Monday.

Police say they conducted extensive searches both on the ground and from the air and were unable to found him. However, they say the man has been identified and Illinois State Police will take over to determine his whereabouts.

Schools in Princeton were placed on a soft lockdown as a precaution, but police say they don't have any evidence to suggest the man is in Princeton.
