Fight between two girls ends in one being stabbed in Florida

ST. PETERSBURG, Fl. (NBC) - A fight between two teenage girls ends in a stabbing Thursday morning in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Students were trying to get to Gibbs High School this morning when a fight between two teen girls broke out at a bus stop.

When the fight escalated, a 15-year-old stabbed a 16-year-old in the back.

The 15-year-old was taken into custody and the 16-year-old was taken to Bayfront Health with a serious injury.

She is now in stable condition.

The incident is an ongoing investigation as police go through video and interview students. The rest of the students were taken to school where counselors are on hand if needed.
